Financial Analyst

Our Finance client located in downtown Edmonton is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their team on a part-time temporary basis with the opportunity to extend. This position will provide support with short and long-range planning, aiding in strategic decision-making as well as operations. Responsibilities:

1. Manage accounts receivable, and payable processes and reconciliation of related accounts.
2. Develop process documentation and workflows to enhance business efficiency.
3. Assist with financial compliance and contribute to internal control assessments.
4. Contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing and reviews.
5. Aid in the audit process by providing necessary analysis and supporting documentation.
6. Support the adoption and implementation of new IT systems.
7. Ad hoc duties as needed.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or Commerce.
2. CPA, CFA, MBA preferred.
3. Must have minimum 5 years’ experience in Finance and/or Accounting.
4. Strong analytical, financial modeling, and forecasting skills including financial statement analysis.
5. Excellent organization and attention to detail.
6. Strong understanding of financial systems and processes.
7. Confident in Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft 365 an asset.
8. Excellent writing and communication skills.
