About Hayter’s Farm
Hayter’s Farm is a family-owned turkey farm based in Dashwood, Ontario, with over 75 years of experience in agriculture and food manufacturing. Known for our high-quality turkey products, we have built strong partnerships with major retailers such as Farm Boy, Sobeys, and Hello Fresh across Canada. As the only Federal establishment in Canada to raise, process, package, and retail all in one location, we have full control over our operations. This allows us to adapt quickly, implement changes effectively, and deliver wholesome products that families trust and love.
Reporting to
This role will report directly to the Controller and work closely with our Finance, Management and Sales Departments.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of the finance team, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting business decisions through cost analysis, and maintaining compliance with financial regulations. You will work closely with management and the finance team to provide insights that drive financial stability and operational efficiency.
Accounting & Compliance:
- Prepare and maintain financial statements, general ledger reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRSand tax regulations.
- Monitoring of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assetsreporting.
- Bi-weekly payroll review and posting
- Supporting in bank reconciliations, payment run reviews, and accounts payable entry as needed
Financial Reporting & Cash Flow:
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Support budgeting and forecasting by assisting with financial models and variance reports.
- Support in creation and reporting of production KPIs; support in developing KPI dashboards
- Compilation, analysis and reporting of weekly sales results
- Short term cashflow / cash-pooling management and monthly covenant reporting
- Conduct profitability and cash flow analysis to optimize financial planning.
- Provide management with actionable insights on financial performance.
Operational & Strategic Support:
- Collaborate with different departments to ensure financial data accuracyand improve reporting processes.
·Support with annual insurance renewals and review, and other operational accounting (bank reconciliation, accounts receivable monitoring, and accounts payable entry as needed)
- Assist in cost analysis and operational efficiency improvements.
- Monitor and support further development of key financial KPIs and business metricsto support decision-making.
- Identify risks and opportunities related to financial performance.
Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Professional accounting designation is preferred but not required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling.
- Proven experience in month-end and year-end closings, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
