The Blueprint
Supported by the President, the VP will be accountable to deliver on financial reporting and governance enhancements that support the broader transformation underway at Tridel. Relying on their high emotional intelligence and track record of delivering successful change, the VP will identify those initiatives that create improvements and value while preserving those elements of the business that are foundational to the culture and successes of DEL.
A Glimpse into Your Daily Activities
- Leading the client reporting and budgeting processes with a focus on efficient, accurate, and timely reporting which is a cornerstone of the DEL service offering.
- Managing organizational cash flow and forecasting.
- Overseeing the preparation of financial reports on a monthly basis for management, and quarterly for Board reporting purposes including dashboards with business KPI’s (e.g., margin analysis, service metrics).
- Effectively communicating and regularly presenting key financial and business performance metrics to the President, EVP Finance as well as the DEL Board.
- Assessing and evaluating the financial performance of the organization regarding operational goals, cash flow, budgets, and forecasts.
- Implementing accounting and financial management systems and procedures, including the paperless initiative with appropriate controls and data management practices to support the function.
- Overseeing preparation of annual and quarterly corporate income, HST / GST and other tax returns and managing all tax compliance issues.
- Undertaking research and analysis as directed by the President including the development of business cases and recommendations on strategies that support the achievement of business goals.
- Evaluating current business processes, recommending transformation initiatives and implementing new processes where appropriate, and fostering continuous improvement of business practices.
- Providing management reporting and analysis that enables the companies’ leadership teams, including finance and operations, to make decisions, resolve issues, mitigate risks, and strengthen financial and operating performance.
- Assessing existing IT systems and determining risks as well as organizational needs and developing a longer-term IT strategy in consultation with Tridel’s IT group.
- Coaching and mentoring team members, as well as holding them accountable for achieving performance expectations and working in alignment with organizational values.
- Performing workforce planning, overseeing the recruitment, and onboarding of new team members as well as disciplining and terminating as required.
The Architect of Your Success
- University degree in Finance, Mathematics or Accounting.
- CPA, CA, CMA or CGA required.
- Exposure to real estate rental, property management, Yard property management software or other related areas will be considered an asset.
- Exceptional relationship manager capable of earning the trust of stakeholders and colleagues.
- High emotional intelligence, ability to flex between driving change and understanding and respecting people and past practices – an influencer.
- A track record of leading transformation projects where there has been a focus on business performance with the help of technology and innovation.
- Skilled communicator with demonstrated ability to articulate financial information to non-finance stakeholders to facilitate informed decisions.
- Proficient at implementing process change and demonstrated experience at managing organizational impacts of that change.
- Strong ability to lead, manage, and enable people to accept new processes, technologies, systems, and structures during a period of broader change.
- Sound knowledge of ASPE and IFRS.
- Strong communicator with good presentation and command skills.
