Work arrangements: 1-2 times per week (Thursdays)
Contract Duration: ASAP - Oct 31st
Possibility of extension: Yes, depending on budget and business case
Schedule Hours: 8:30 am-5 pm Monday-Friday (No overtime).

Story Behind the Need
Business group: CIDA Operations & Strategy: Supports Financial Operations for Customer Insight Data & Analytics. This is a critical function and has the responsibility for ensuring effective P&L management and optimization of business investments with Bank's strategic priorities. The Manager has responsibility for the accurate, comprehensive and timely preparation and financial information of CID&A's monthly and quarterly results, ensuring accurate, comprehensive and timely delivery of reporting and analysis from both statutory and business line perspective, for use in BNS executive and senior management reporting and decision-making. Contributes to the overall success of Global Finance - Reporting ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed and delivered in support of business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

  1. 8-10 years of financial accounting and generally accepted accounting principles with good understanding of elements of effective control over the integrity and completeness of financial reporting.
  2. 5-8 years of experience with computer applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OBI/Smartview and any other financial tools.

Nice-To-Have Skills:
  1. Completion or enrollment in an accounting program is preferred (i.e. CPA, MBA).
  2. Knowledgeable of the Bank's products, operations and procedures is preferred.
  3. Financial experience working with project management teams.

  9. Highly flexible, detail-oriented, and able to cope with changing priorities and to multi-task under tight deadlines and deliver with a great amount of accuracy and completeness.
  10. Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.

Education & Certificates:
Post-secondary degree in Finance or Accounting
