Zantingh Direct Inc. is seeking a talented and motivated Finance Manager to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee financial operations, implement effective internal controls, and contribute to the company's continued success and innovation. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the design, documentation, and implementation of internal controls, accounting procedures, and policies encompassing all corporate departments and subsidiaries.
  • Make recommendations on enhancements as required and assist with the implementation of the same.
  • Aid in the preparation of all financial statements and financial reports, including the review of monthly working papers and related analysis.
  • Support management with all tax-related functions, including income and commodity taxes.
  • Provide information to external auditors to ensure the timely preparation of year-end audited financials.
  • Coordination of office staff in conjunction with the barn staff.
  • Assist in improvements in the accounting system and other efficiencies as required.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and information as requested by management and external financial statement auditors.
  • Collaborate with the implementation of accounting policies and internal audits.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, maintain payroll records, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations while addressing payroll-related inquiries and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Coordinate administrative tasks related to pig processing operations, ensuring efficient and accurate documentation and reporting of processing activities while collaborating with the operations team to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure the smooth functioning of financial systems, manage in-house IT hardware and software maintenance, coordinate with third-party tech companies for support, and oversee IT inventory counts.
  • Oversee the administration of Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIA's), ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and timely submission of paperwork.
  • Support special projects or other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post Secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience in relevant industries such as agriculture, trucking (especially international trucking), small to medium-sized companies, or smaller-scale manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • CPA preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and financial reporting.
  • Experience with internal controls, accounting procedures, and policies.
  • Proficiency in tax-related functions.
  • Experience in supervising accounting staff.
  • Proficiency in preparing ad-hoc reports and information as requested by management and external financial statement auditors.
  • Exceptional excel skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
