The Community Government of Whatì is seeking a highly motivated Finance Manager to join our team and contribute to the financial sustainability of our community. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a vital role in managing community resources and supporting long-term growth.
The role:
The Finance Manager will oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, payroll, and compliance. Reporting to the Senior Administrative Officer (SAO), you will ensure that all financial processes run smoothly, support key strategic decisions, and offer expert financial advice to leadership. You will be responsible for preparing financial reports, managing cash flow, developing risk management strategies, and managing a team.
What we are looking for:
We are seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, who holds a CPA designation or is actively pursuing it (having completed the CFE). You should have 5+ years of financial management experience, ideally within a municipal or Indigenous government setting, and be proficient in Sage 300, Microsoft Office, and other financial tools. Strong leadership skills, a valid driver’s license, and a clean criminal record are essential for this role.
