Position Overview:

The Finance Manager will be pivotal in overseeing and managing the accounting cycle across all nine Heart Pharmacy Group locations. This role ensures the integrity and accuracy of financial data, adherence to regulatory requirements, and the effective leadership of a hybrid finance team. The Finance Manager will be responsible for financial reporting, internal controls, and supporting company-wide financial planning and strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the complete accounting cycle for nine pharmacies, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), Payroll, Treasury, Inventory, and month-end close processes, in compliance with GAAP/ASPE.
  2. Lead and mentor a finance team of nine, including four local and three overseas staff, providing training, development, and conducting annual performance reviews.
  3. Prepare internal financial reports, including routine and ad-hoc financial statements.
  4. Manage the year-end process, working closely with external accounting firms for year-end preparation and tax filing.
  5. Establish and maintain strong internal controls to ensure compliance with workflows and regulatory requirements.
  6. Ensure timely and accurate remittances and reporting of GST, PST, WCB, and other government obligations.
  7. Support budgeting and forecasting processes to meet company objectives.
  8. Serve as the primary liaison with banks, vendors, and third-party stakeholders.
  9. Lead the financial process integration for new pharmacy locations.
  10. Perform related duties, contributing to the organization's overall financial health and efficiency.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  2. CPA designation (in progress or completed).
  3. 5+ years of experience leading and managing a finance or accounting team.
  4. Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards (GAAP/ASPE).
  5. Advanced analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
  6. Proficiency with financial software, including ERP systems and Excel.
  7. Demonstrated leadership ability with a track record of building and managing effective teams.
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with financial and non-financial stakeholders.
