Finance Manager

Job Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

1. Prepare month-end and year-end journal entries
2. Prepare financial statements for assigned Business Units
3. Update month-end working papers and supporting schedules
4. Manage fixed asset accounting and leases
5. Prepare data required for monthly financial statement consolidation
6. Prepare analysis of business unit financial statements and variance to budget and prior years
7. Ad hoc analysis as requested by other members of the financial operations team and business units
8. Compile reports necessary to comply with provincial laws and federal regulations
9. Prepare working papers required for annual external, tax & bank audits
10. Support the preparation of annual budgets
11. Participate in project-based work identified by the finance operations team
12. Identify financial reporting issues and support the execution of solutions for the Director of Financial Operations

Business Operations Reporting And Analysis:

1. Manage the compilation and maintenance of data required for forecasts.
2. Manage periodic inventory counts and reconciliations
3. Identify areas for improving processes and suggest alternative solutions
4. Maintain accounting procedures manual with the most current documentation of changes

Education/ Experience:

1. Professional Accounting Designation completed
2. 5+ years accounting experience
3. Strong knowledge of Accounting Systems
4. Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office

Education:

1. Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience:

1. Agriculture: 3 years (preferred)
2. Accounting: 5 years (preferred)
3. Management: 5 years (preferred)
