Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Finance Manager to join our team. The Finance Manager will oversee financial operations and develop strategies to improve financial health and operational efficiency. This role requires a hands-on manager with a strong accounting and analytical background to manage day-to-day financial tasks, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Analysis
- Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Prepare, analyze, and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, providing financial insights and recommendations.
- Monitor and manage cash flow and ensure the company meets its financial obligations.
Financial Reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all financial data.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Accounting and Compliance
- Ensure all accounting activities and processes are in line with industry regulations and company policies.
- Manage and supervise bookkeepers, accounts payable, and receivable.
- Oversee internal and external audits and address any discrepancies.
Cost Management and Profitability
- Analyze costs and revenues, providing recommendations to improve profitability.
- Implement and monitor financial controls to reduce unnecessary expenses.
- Identify and assess areas for operational improvement and cost efficiency.
Risk Management
- Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with financial, regulatory, and operational guidelines.
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand and mitigate financial risks across departments.
Leadership and Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, encouraging a collaborative, high-performance environment.
- Set team objectives, provide performance feedback, and identify development opportunities.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field; a master’s degree or CPA certification is considered an asset.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting.
- 2+ years in a managerial role.
Skills
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
