Location: Ottawa, ON / Hybrid
Full-Time Non-Profit Permanent

We’re working with a fantastic nonprofit client to find their next Finance Manager—someone who’s as comfortable crunching numbers as they are supporting a mission that matters. Responsibilities

  1. Oversee all accounting transactions and ensure the integrity of the general ledger.
  2. Manage full-cycle accounting processes including month-end and year-end close.
  3. Prepare interim and annual financial audits in coordination with external auditors.
  4. Administer payroll, benefits, and pension plans, while maintaining accurate HR records.
  5. File HST rebate claims and provincial tax returns in compliance with current regulations.
  6. Oversee donation receipting and tax matters specific to registered charities.
  7. Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, dashboards, and budget-to-actuals.
  8. Support the annual budget process and quarterly financial reporting with leadership.
  9. Ensure compliance with all NFP and CRA reporting requirements.
  10. Provide team leadership through coaching, performance management, and workflow optimization.
  11. Contribute to special projects and ad-hoc initiatives as required.

Qualifications

  1. Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. CPA designation (or near completion) strongly preferred.
  3. Minimum 5 years of finance leadership experience in a non-profit or charitable organization.
  4. Familiarity with charitable tax compliance and donation receipting.
  5. Strong knowledge of payroll processing and benefits administration.
  6. Proficient in accounting software such as Great Plains and advanced Excel skills.
