Here at Human Appeal, we have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager to join our team based in Mississauga. The role will be worked from the office. You will join us on a full-time basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of $69,700 to $94,300 depending on your experience.

Human Appeal is a faith-based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs, and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide.

As the Finance Manager, you will lead a crucial role as the pivotal point in country operations financial management to new and existing branches, country programmes, and implementing partners while responding to challenges in country operations. The Finance Manager must be capable of assuming senior management positions in a new country or in any country offices. The Manager will lead on the assurance and oversight of the charity's financial processing and reporting. This includes capacity building and ensuring all processes are working as desired; we are ideally looking to appoint somebody immediately to this role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities of the Finance Manager:

  1. Successfully ensures local teams are delivering on month-end accounting and reporting in a timely manner monthly.
  2. Successfully ensures local teams are delivering on statutory accounting, year-end audits, and other audits.
  3. Safeguard the charity from risk in accordance with internal policies & procedures and external accounting regulations/fundraising regulator/grant recognition/Charity SORP/VAT etc.
  4. Deliver value for money by ensuring due diligence checks are applied to all financial matters.
  5. Manage and develop a high-performing capable Finance team to deliver a high-class service to Human Appeal.

What We're Looking For in Our Finance Manager:

  • Qualified Professional Accountant in a Finance discipline with an Accounting Qualification (CMA, CA, AoCA & CFA) or Qualified by Experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a relevant role.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite; Accounts Systems (NAV, ERP systems).
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about the international development sector.
