Position Description:
This role leads the franchise finance team, partnering and providing financial counsel to the commercial teams. Serving as financial advisor to Sales, Marketing, Commercial Operations and Supply Chain partners. Leads teams in the creation of profitability analytics and analysis for all RFP’s/tenders and proposals along with the business & sales planning, GP analysis, investment prioritization, product lifecycle management and decision support. It will require engaging business partners using data and analytics to influence and shape business decisions that support both short and long-term strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead team of three finance associates. Manage the day-to-day leadership and performance of the team. This includes: providing feedback, identifying goals and objectives management, meeting overall group deadlines and professional development and coaching.
- Act as the Primary Finance Business Partner for the franchise and Sales and Marketing Vice President. Serve as a member of franchise and finance Leadership Team.
- Coordinate, develop, review and analyze Franchise Annual Business Plan including quarterly updates, latest estimates and the annual Strategic Plan.
- Enable sustainable profitable growth for the organization by understanding the drivers of revenue, gross profit and marketing expenses and taking an active role working with the commercial team in the management of the expenses and revenue opportunities, including support and financial leadership for RFP submissions.
- Partnering with business to build strategic pricing (pricing ladders), price increase, rebate strategies, improving GP to enable long term profitable growth.
- Ensure appropriate accounting of costs for business partners (special focus on Month End and Quarter End). Responsibilities will include reviewing and approving journal entries, commissions, management reports and relevant balance sheet reconciliations. Navigate the three-tier model, by influencing and working through associates on other finance teams.
- Lead regular contribution meetings to proactively identify areas of potential over/underspends and understand variances (actual vs. budget, actual vs. prior year).
- Identify, plan, and execute cost savings/avoidance and process improvement projects.
- Partner with Inventory Planning on asset and inventory optimization activities and initiatives.
- Partner with larger finance team to ensure alignment and streamlined processes.
- Champion and develop a strong compliance mindset environment through business partner training and oversight.
Qualifications:
- University degree coupled with qualified accounting designation completed or in process (CPA).
- 5+ years of progressive & diverse experience within several finance & accounting related functions.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead & manage a team of finance professionals.
- Customer focused business partner with demonstrated ability to successfully partner with and influence senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills – ability to prepare and clearly & concisely present complex financial analytics and insights to senior business and financial partners.
- Resourceful and independent. Demonstrated success within a challenging environment with a high degree of change and complexity.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, and ability to manage a strong compliance environment.
