Finance Coordinator
(40 hours/week)

The Finance Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the financial management of Karis Disability Services and provides support for all members of the Finance Department. This includes banking deposits for Karis Disability Services, Karis Community Initiatives, and Karis Global Partnership. The Finance Coordinator will maintain, analyze, update and reconcile financial and statistical information, with a high degree of accuracy. The role of the Finance Coordinator is to provide assistance to Karis staff in all matters that are relevant to the position.
Responsibilities:
- Receive all monies that come into the organization for deposit and balance them and post them in the Accounts Receivable sub-ledger.
- Review data from current Passport system, transform and upload to PassportONE.
- Reconcile data from PassportONE and post it in Accounts Receivable subledger.
- Investigate and respond to PassportONE audit inquiries.
- Reconcile payment and post cash in the accounting system.
- Assign monies/deposits received and post to appropriate sub-ledger.
- Complete system integrity checks and reports.
- Reconcile company bank accounts; verify that all transactions are appropriately recorded in the accounting system.
- Prepare regular journal entries to record recurring bank transactions.
- Analyze records for supported individuals and follow-up with invoices to parents/advocates.
- Support the banking administrator as a back-up to manage online banking transactions by reviewing and uploading banking files into online banking system.
- Assist with internal and external audits as required.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to record financial transactions appropriately.
- Analyze accounting system needs and make recommendations for improvements.
- Provide back-up for Finance Department team members as required.
- Participate as an active team member of Finance Department.
- Support special projects and analysis, reporting, or other duties as assigned by the Corporate Controller or to meet the strategic objectives of the department.
Requirements:
- 1 year of previous work experience in an accounting or finance setting.
- College Diploma in a related field of study.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Computer skills, including accounting software management.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Able to design work plan and set priorities.
