FINANCE CLERK (Temporary)

Salary :

Grade : LEVEL 6 - MoveUP AGREEMENT

Wage Rate : $39.20 - $42.22 per hour

Full Time : Hours of work are 32 per week, four days.

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance Clerk to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Director - Finance, the Finance Clerk will be responsible for supporting a variety of accounting and finance tasks, including processing expense claims, payroll, vendor invoices, and reconciling financial records. The successful candidate will have a strong background in finance or accounting, excellent organizational skills, and experience working with accounting software.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Expense & Claims Processing : Process expense claims and ensure that they are in compliance with financial policies.
  • Leave of Absence & Billing : Review and process leave of absence data and billings for accuracy and completeness.
  • Leave Report Management : Run and balance monthly leave of absence reports and review for accuracy.
  • Invoice & Purchase Order Management : Process vendor invoices and match them to purchase orders to check for proper authorization.
  • Payroll & Remittance Processing : Prepare and reconcile monthly payroll analysis, including related remittances.
  • Financial Reporting and Account Reconciliation : Reconcile account balances to supporting details or sub-ledgers, prepare journal entries, and assist with preparing monthly and year-end financial information.
  • General Support : Support both internal and external stakeholders with finance-related inquiries.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The successful candidate will have the following :

Education & Experience :

  • Diploma or equivalent in Finance or Accounting from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a related finance or accounting position.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) or similar accounting software.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

  • Strong understanding of basic accounting procedures and payroll processing.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, providing proactive support and anticipating needs.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve discrepancies or issues related to accounts or financial records.
