Finance Analyst IV

Our Client, a Banking company, is looking for a Finance Analyst IV for their Toronto, ON/Hybrid location.

Responsibilities:

• The role will involve learning the tasks of the senior analysts within the team via hands-on execution of certain tasks and transitioning to the oversight function of the tasks completed by the senior analyst.
• Initially supporting the Corporate segment with monthly and quarterly reporting including providing guidance on Basel III guidelines, reviewing Wealth Canada reconciliations as well as various related tasks for the consolidated BCAR processes.
• Act as subject matter expert for Client's Basel III reporting processes including BCAR and Pillar 3 disclosures.
• Timely review of inputs, supporting documents, and analysis for BCAR regulatory capital as well as quarterly Basel disclosures.
• During the term of this STA, the role may shift to assist other desks within the broader Basel Reporting team as various members may need to shift to assist in the capital initiatives project. This would involve both manager oversight tasks as well as hands-on completion for other tasks within various areas of the team.
• Involvement in projects and testing as it relates to new regulatory requirements and system updates.
• Proactively identify opportunities to strengthen and improve processes and controls.
• Promote a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, productivity, innovation, creativity, analysis, and advice.

Requirements:

• Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA/CPA) - strong nice to have.
• Knowledge of Basel capital frameworks would be an asset.
• Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), FCCS.
• 7+ years of financial accounting and reporting experience.
• Proactive - someone who can come in hitting the ground running. Ability and willingness to learn independently. Want this contractor to become a SME in Basel reporting.
• Multi-task and prioritize.
• Strong communication skills.
• Excel proficiency.
• Highly motivated with strong time management aptitude, analytical skills, and the ability to be flexible.
• Must be detail-oriented and able to plan, manage, and prioritize multiple responsibilities while meeting tight deadlines and delivering accurate results.
• Proactive with the ability to anticipate issues and recommend solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and proven ability to work within and across teams.
• Excellent knowledge of financial tools such as Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), FCCS, Excel, Word, Pivot tables as well as the ability to learn new tools when required.
