We are currently seeking an experienced Finance/Accounting professional to help ensure our financial stability while advancing our mission to deliver exceptional educational materials in palliative care.

In this critical role, you will partner with our leadership team to assess the financial impact of strategic initiatives, develop robust operational systems, and lead risk management efforts. Because we’re a dynamic organization, we need a trusted professional who can wear multiple hats—adapting to challenges and opportunities across our business to drive collaboration, problem-solving, and improvements at every level. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Management
    • Maintaining the financial health of the business - budget forecasting, financial reporting
    • Analyze financial data, provide insights and support strategic decision making
    • Evaluate and communicate financial implications of business initiatives
  2. Business Decision Support
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate financial considerations into daily operations
  3. Operational Systems and SOP Development
    • Leverage your understanding of operational systems to contribute to and create Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs)
    • Ensure financial processes are efficient and align with overall business objectives, actively look for streamlining opportunities.
  4. Risk Management
    • Identify, assess and mitigate financial risk while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
    • Develop risk management strategies that protect the company’s assets and reputation
  5. Customer Interaction and Flexibility
    • Engage with customers when necessary to provide financial insights and resolve financial queries
    • Adapt to evolving business needs and work with both internal and external stakeholders
  6. Experience and Education
    • Experience in finance or accounting within a stable business environment
    • A proven track record of long-term reliability and community engagement
    • Recognized financial credentials or comparable level of expertise
  7. Skills and Competencies
    • Strong overall business acumen and ability to see “the big picture”
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
    • Proven track record of trustworthiness and demonstrated integrity in previous roles
    • Familiarity with operational systems and developing SOPs
    • Ability to manage risk effectively and contribute to the financial strategy of the company
    • A team player who can be relied upon to uphold standards with a high level of trust
    • Advanced use and knowledge of QuickBooks Online
    • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Outlook, and Excel, etc)
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently

The annual salary ranges from $70,500 to $100,000 with final compensation based on individual and relevant experience.
