Our client is searching for a Financial Accountant to join their team. This role will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining various project budgets. A successful candidate will have strong customer service skills, including the ability to interact with everyone in a respectful manner.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
Coordinate and maintain operating project budget, capital projects, and grant schedules
Prepare reporting for grants and intercompany transfers
Prepare GST returns and record journal entries
Reconcile monthly banks and balance sheet accounts
Maintain capital asset register and purchase order register and expense accruals for the year-end
Resolve any accounts receivable and accounts payable issues
Verify and upload monthly rent roll
Assist with preparation of quarterly lead sheets and year-end working papers and insurance claims
Assist with project management billings and payments and US bank reconciliation
Proactively identify and resolve any issues or reconciling items related to general ledger balance sheet accounts
Additional reporting and reconciliation duties as required
Your strengths include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required
5+ years of experience is required
Experience with using Yardi and Audit experience is an asset
Solid analytical and financial analysis skills
Computer literate with a demonstrated ability to adapt to new systems and processes
Ability to demonstrate responsible judgment in problem solving
Superior planning and organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines and respond calmly to stressful situations
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
