The position will report directly to the Site Supervisor to assist with general labourer tasks including lifting, digging, and general site clean-up.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform tasks as assigned by Site Supervisor, which may include excavation, demolition, carrying supplies and materials, setting up and breaking down workstations and scaffolding, minor carpentry, tool maintenance, punch list tasks, assisting trade contractors, etc.
2. Digging, lifting, and moving equipment and material as required.
3. General understanding of basic hand tools and the ability to use them.
4. Report any problems, damage, hazardous conditions, and oversights to Site Supervisor.
5. Keep job sites clean, ensuring debris is contained in proper dumpsters, and complete exterior pick-up and interior sweeping/tidying as directed by Site Supervisor.
6. Help Site Supervisor receive material deliveries by unloading trucks, stacking, and storing materials, and protecting lumber and other large materials from exposure to weather.
7. De-ice, shovel snow, and supply heat to homes under construction in winter.
8. Ensure excavated areas, trenches, and holes are marked for safety.
9. Keep model homes tidy through general housekeeping on the interior and exterior.
10. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

1. General construction safety knowledge.
2. Good verbal communication skills.
3. Reliability.
4. Ability to operate hand and power tools.
5. Valid driver’s license.
6. Criminal background check required.
7. Ability to lift on a daily basis (weights may reach 50+ pounds).
8. Valid CSTS, WHMIS, First Aid Certifications, Fall Arrest, and Lift Equipment courses are an asset. The company will provide training.

Physical Demand Requirements:

1. VISION: Near and far vision, with some work activities involving monitoring processes, objects, or situations that are far from the worker, and others performed near the worker.
2. HEARING: Verbal interaction, involving regular communication with colleagues.
3. BODY POSITION: Work activities involve combinations and varying degrees of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
4. LIMB COORDINATION: Multiple limb coordination, with activities carried out by coordinating the movements of upper limbs simultaneously with lower limbs.
5. STRENGTH: High; work activities involve handling loads of 10lb to less than 50lb.
6. ENVIRONMENT: Primarily outdoors, in all weather conditions.
7. HEIGHT: Ability to work at high levels on ladders, scaffolding, and climb stairs.

Working Conditions: This is a field position and will require travel between designated job sites. Traditional core hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Work may be required occasionally on weekends and/or evenings.
