Field Services Labourer - Summer Student

Northern Strands Group of Companies is currently accepting applications for Summer Student Employment for the months of May to August 2025. General Duties And Responsibilities

• Worker must be able to lift heavy loads and able to work at heights as well as in underground mining locations
• Responsible for the execution of safe and efficient Fall Protection system and progressioner installations and assessments
• Aid in installing fall protection and/or railcar progressioner systems and perform inspections at a variety of customer sites under the direction of the Crew Supervisor
• Complete tasks in accordance with the company procedures and policies for specific jobs
• Maintain safe work practices
• The Installer provides a working example of safe methods for working at heights
• Aid in the completion of site inspections of existing fall protection and/or railcar progressioner systems
• Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Requirements

• Ability to commence full-time (40 hours/week) work from the beginning of May until the end of August
• Mechanical aptitude considered ideal
• General construction knowledge would be considered an asset
• Class 5 driving license required
• Any safety-related training and certificates would be beneficial
• Willing to travel across Saskatchewan (interprovincially at times) and be prepared to work overtime
• Ability to understand and follow directions
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbal
• Ability to handle competing priorities simultaneously
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability to work well alone or in a team setting
• Possess a positive and professional attitude, set a high standard, and convey professionalism at all times

Note: The Field Services Labourer - Summer Student position is deemed a safety-sensitive position and applicant must successfully complete a pre-employment drug & alcohol test as a condition of employment. This position will require work boots that meet the minimum position standards.
