Field Service Technician

Our client, a global leader in the safety supply industry, is seeking a Field Service Technician to join their team. Based in Delta, this role covers the Lower Mainland and is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled individual looking to transition into the safety industry or an experienced electronic instrumentation specialist eager to join a globally recognized company.
The Field Service Technician will support the Lead Technician and serve as a key link between customers and operations. This role is a mix of in-shop maintenance work and on-site customer visits for equipment repairs, upgrades, and testing. It’s an entry-level position, ideal for mechanically inclined individuals looking to build a long-term career in technical service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues, determining appropriate corrective actions.
- Communicate issues with customers and internal teams, advising on solutions.
- Recommend replacement parts and estimate service timelines.
- Install and maintain equipment within an assigned territory.
- Build strong customer relationships through in-person service and professional email correspondence.
- Travel locally, with occasional overnight stays in BC (primarily based in Greater Vancouver, allowing for daily return home).
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Associate Degree in Electronics or a related field (or equivalent education/training).
- Strong electronics background with mechanical aptitude.
- 1-3 years of experience in troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and maintenance of electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and software-based systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service experience, preferably in a technical field.
- Valid driver’s license & passport.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work under pressure.
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs.
