About You:
Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated self-starter who is able to work under guided supervision to complete time-sensitive tasks. You are an avid problem solver adept at debugging technical systems and products, and enjoy hands-on work. You are competent and likable. You thrive working directly with customers at their sites on a daily basis. You are driven to help people achieve their goals through providing excellent service. You enjoy traveling to customer sites on the West Coast.

Essential Functions:

  • Calibration, preventative maintenance & service repairs on metrology vision systems at customer sites.
  • Scheduled checkups to evaluate performance of measurement systems including measurement tests, alignments, and compensations for measurement error.
  • Maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of mechanical components.
  • Report on engineering accuracy, resolution, specification, system environment impact and terminology.
  • Attend continued training classes about different measurement software for different types of systems.
  • Perform new system installations, configurations & troubleshooting of measurement equipment.
  • Learn and execute identification, data analysis, and repair procedures based on factory support and procedures.
  • Collaborate with fellow service engineers on calibrations, repairs, upgrades etc. with routine weekly meetings.
  • Research and answer difficult customer questions about product features and recommend appropriate upgrades with or without help of team and other departments.

Requirements:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude, prior experience in a hands-on mechanical role.
  • Experience in service-oriented activities, outstanding customer service skills.
  • Ability to carefully handle and manipulate data.
  • Strong familiarity with MS Windows, MS Office applications and basic file structures.
  • Aptitude for retention and communication of detailed product knowledge.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and nonverbal interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Maturity and safe work habits in an industrial environment.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license with an excellent driving record.
  • Ability to travel extensively within the West Coast.
  • Ability to work overtime.

Preferences:

  • Experience in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or equivalent, use of CAD systems, computer programming.
  • Background in one or more technical disciplines - metrology, quality control, additive manufacturing, machining.
  • Familiarity with one or more types of equipment - CMM's, machine tools.
