GFL Environmental is experiencing rapid growth and is in search of a Field Recruiter to join our team in Vaughan. You will be tasked with cultivating relationships with local communities along with our operations to identify top-tier talent. This role would oversee the entire recruitment lifecycle, including the review, screening, and recommendation of suitable candidates for specific business lines. Acting as a strategic partner to the business units you support, you will spearhead key initiatives within your designated regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partnership Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with local indigenous communities and collaborate with HR, operational hiring leaders, and local educational institutions.
- Full Cycle Recruiting: Manage high-volume recruiting processes by partnering with field operations leadership to determine staffing needs.
- Job Fair Organization: Organize and execute job fairs to connect with local talent.
- Candidate Assessment: Review applicant resumes, conduct preliminary phone interviews, and coordinate interviews and assessments between candidates and hiring teams.
- Offer Management: Deliver offer letters for all positions, acting as a GFL ambassador by effectively selling the perks and benefits of working at GFL, and explaining important details such as benefits, compensation, and non-compete clauses.
- Candidate Sourcing: Create and develop sourcing strategies, headhunt, and use outside-the-box ideas to attract quality talent. Leverage community networking events and manage college and university partnership programs.
- Compliance and System Management: Ensure compliance with employment laws, manage candidate activity in the Workday Applicant Tracking System (ATS), and maintain application/resume file retention according to company policy.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in full cycle recruiting, with exposure to operational industries preferred
- Travel to all sites in your region weekly/quarterly or as business needs require
- Valid Driver's License required

- Knowledge of employment standards, employee relations, benefits, and onboarding
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Strong time management and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems
- Strong ethical judgment and commitment to confidentiality
