About Our Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Housing Federal-Provincial / Territorial (FPT) Relations, the FPT Relations Analyst works in the Housing Strategy & Analytics division, providing specialized and complex research and program analysis to support strategic advice and recommendations regarding FPT relations on housing issues. This involves collaboration and information-sharing with other Departments and governments to support policy analysis and advance effective intergovernmental collaboration and negotiations; supporting the Department’s participation in the FPT Housing Forum; and advising leadership on matters related to intergovernmental housing agreements.

Primary Accountabilities
As the FPT Relations Analyst, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing analysis of policy options and presenting summaries, recommendations, and reports on a variety of complex FPT issues, including determining data and information requirements and designing appropriate data collection methods.
  • Effective and timely communication on current FPT housing priorities, initiatives, and positions to inform policy and program recommendations.
  • Organizing and synthesizing high volumes of information and identifying relevant trends to support strategic advice.
  • Contributing to the development of provincial negotiating priorities and supporting the Department’s participation in the FPT Housing Forum and other intergovernmental initiatives, including drafting effective reports, presentations, and briefing materials, and making strategic recommendations.
  • Participating in working groups and supporting collaboration within and among governments on housing-related issues.

Qualifications and Experience
You have completed a related bachelor’s degree and have five (5) years of related experience. You have demonstrated success in data analytics along with project management abilities. You have proven experience maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders and staff, exercising sound judgment and professionalism when providing technical advice. You communicate for maximum results, consistently maintain a courteous disposition, and hold a high standard for client and customer service. You are a self-motivated individual who works both independently with minimal supervision and participates fully as an effective team player.

You are a self-starter and an innovative thinker who is solutions-oriented. You analyze and present information in a clear and concise manner. You have well-developed planning and organizational skills, coupled with the ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and strict deadlines. You pay attention to detail and effectively interpret and apply policy and process.

You must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite and demonstrate a good understanding of computer technologies. A working knowledge of services and programs offered by the Department, along with government policies, procedures, and procurement processes, is ideal.

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interviews, and reference checks.

Equivalency
An equivalent combination of training, education, and experience will be considered. Related equivalencies may include:

  • A related master’s degree and three (3) years of related experience.
  • A related two-year diploma and seven (7) years of related experience.
  • Nine (9) years of related experience.

Working Conditions
Work is primarily based in an office environment with a requirement to travel to worksite locations. Work is performed in an office environment where a stressful working environment may be present.

Pay Grade: PR 13

Salary Range: $2,556.10 - $3,107.16 Bi-Weekly
