The Family Support Workers of the Community Parent and School Support Program (COMPASS) provide regular in-home parenting education and support to families with children up to age 12 (Grade 6) who have been identified with behavioral, emotional, or social challenges. Using strength-based goal setting and positive parenting strategies, we work directly with parents and caregivers to teach the skills needed to assist their child to be successful at home, in school and in the community. The Family Support Worker (FSW) position will maintain a caseload and conduct weekly home visits to support families in recognizing, identifying, and acknowledging their strengths while promoting client involvement in defining realistic goals and concrete tasks.
This position works 18.75 hours per week, with a schedule of Tuesday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Wednesday from 1:00 pm to 7:30 pm, and Thursday from 12:45 pm to 7:30 pm, while also offering flexibility to meet client needs and requiring variable hours.
