Family Specialist Professional

Bridgeway Support Services, a division of Bridgeway Family Homes, seeks highly skilled Child and Youth Care Practitioners to support families, children, youth, and young adults who are experiencing a range of social, emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges through a goal-focused service in one of Bridgeway’s Treatment Foster Homes.

You are an independent contractor, part of a collaborative professional team that provides services in Foster Homes and the community.

We are looking for experienced individuals to provide services between 15 - 25 hours per week based on the client’s needs, including providing services during the week between 3:00pm - 9:00pm, some weekend sessions, and occasionally daytime sessions during weekdays.

Responsibilities

1. Communication with collaborative team members
2. Providing scheduled, goal-focused services to families and individuals
3. Development of goal-focused activities
4. Case notes, reports, and other administrative tasks
5. Transporting children/youth while providing services

1. Certificate, diploma, or degree (i.e. Child and Youth Care Practitioner) from a recognized college or university
2. 2 - 5 years experience providing services to children/youth and/or families with a variety of critical needs
3. Current Verbal De-escalation Certification (e.g. CIT, NCI, TCI, UMAB) with experience in crisis prevention is required
4. Current CPR/First Aid is required
5. Knowledge of FASD, ODD, autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, and other diagnoses is an asset
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
7. Excellent organizational, administrative, and report-writing skills

1. Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (obtained from local Police)
2. Current Child Welfare Record Check (obtained from local Children’s Aid Society)
3. Driver’s Abstract, Class “G” Driver’s License
4. Access to an insured vehicle with $2 million liability insurance
