What you'll doWe are seeking a Family Practitioner (FP) at the Surrey Pretrial Service Centre to help us improve access to primary health care as well as mental health and substance use support for clients in correctional centres. The FP is an important member of the health care team and works alongside other health care experts on a supportive and inter-professional team to provide quality care for clients and help them live an active life during their time in custody and as they reintegrate into the community.

What you bringQualifications:
- Eligible for provisional or full licensure with CPSBC
- Certification with the College of Family Physicians, or equivalent, is mandatory.
Assets:
- Experience in working with patients across a broad spectrum of psychiatric illness, substance use disorders, and personality difficulties
- Experience in Correctional Health and/or additional certification or training

What we doBC Mental Health & Substance Use Services (BCMHSUS) cares for people with complex mental health and substance use challenges. As part of the provincial mental health services continuum, BCMHSUS provides a diverse range of specialized, 'one-of-a-kind' tertiary mental health and substance use services to adults across the province. These include services located at the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital and six regional clinics, the Red Fish Healing Centre for Mental Health & Addiction, and Heartwood Centre for Women. In addition to delivering these clinical services, BCMHSUS provides provincial leadership for system-wide improvement through its work in health promotion and illness prevention, knowledge exchange, and research and academic teaching. BCMHSUS is a program within the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA).
