Family Physician Job

Ocean Pier Medical Centre is seeking a Family Physician in Sidney, British Columbia.

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Sidney, British Columbia
Salary: Fee for service $400,000 (estimated)
Anticipated Start Date: July 15, 2025

Duties:

1. Provide health care services in a competent, conscientious, and professional manner;
2. Create patient-specific health programs that make use of historical data;
3. Monitor and adapt individualized health programs over time;
4. Provide comprehensive wellness examinations, take patients histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures;
5. Prescribe and administer medications and treatments;
6. Schedule and administer follow-up examinations;
7. Refer patients to other providers for specialized treatment;
8. Coordinate care with other medical professionals;
9. Care for the whole patient, including mental and emotional concerns;
10. Build long-term relationships with patients;
11. Advise patients in health management and disease prevention;
12. Consult with the team as needed, attend meetings as requested.

Job Requirements:

1. A medical degree from an approved faculty of medicine listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools with a Canada Note, is required;
2. Must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC);
3. Must be a member in good standing with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) and the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA), or an equivalent professional liability insurance plan;
4. 2-3 years of family medicine residency training are required;
5. Certification required: MRCGP, MICGP, FRACGP, FACRRM, CCFP, or DABFM;
6. Proficiency of English language is required (IELTS Academic 8.0 band overall).
