An assistant professor position to teach and carry out research in anthropology, with a specialization in Indigenous Studies on the current realities and issues facing the Indigenous peoples of Canada, preferably Quebec.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching a variety of core and optional undergraduate and graduate courses offered by the Department;
- Supervising graduate students (MA and PhD levels);
- Developing a distinctive research programme with publishing in peer-reviewed journals;
- Performing administrative and academic duties for the Department, the Faculty and the University.
Selection Criteria:
- Have completed a PhD in anthropology or a degree deemed equivalent by the Search Committee; applicants with confirmed defence dates may also apply.
- The capacity to supervise both undergraduate and graduate students in French (if not already fluent, a support programme is available).
- Applications from aboriginal persons will be received favourably.
More specifically, applicants must have:
- Conducted significant anthropological fieldwork;
- A track record of scholarly publications;
- Teaching experience.
