BCIT’s School of Construction and the Environment is seeking a regular, full-time (1.0 FTE) Faculty to teach in the Master of Science Ecological Restoration.
BCIT’s Master of Science (MSc) in Ecological Restoration is a North American leader in this emerging discipline. The program provides graduates with world-class knowledge of science and applied and technical skills needed to restore a broad range of degraded ecosystems. The program has been designed to advance the science and practice of ecological restoration. Students work with our Faculty and industry partners on a wide range of research and restoration projects, thereby gaining experience in addressing many current environmental challenges. Graduates have an excellent track record of securing positions with consulting companies, non-profit organizations, and all levels of government, including Indigenous governments.
This permanent 1.0 FTE position will teach ECOR 9110 (Planning and Monitoring for Ecological Restoration) and ECOR 9260 (Project Management and Community Engagement) to students enrolled in the Masters of Science in Ecological Restoration. The successful candidate will also supervise thesis-based research projects in ECOR 9170 (Thesis Concept), 9270 (Thesis Proposal), and 9600 (Thesis). Teaching duties will also be assigned to the BSc in ecological restoration. The successful candidate will also modify and develop new courses in aquatic or marine restoration.
General responsibilities will include providing support for course- and program-level applied learning including training students in field applications (including equipment use), engaging in program meetings, and organizing and participating in field-trip logistics. Other responsibilities will be based on the strengths of the successful candidate and the needs of the program.

Salary Range: $65,045 - $113,545 per annum.
Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
