The Facilities Manager will be the single point of contact responsible for facilities management, assisting the Regional Manager and the Corporate Real Estate team with the delivery of quality facility management services. The Facility Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, operation, and efficiency of buildings and their systems. This role ensures a safe, comfortable, and productive environment for all building occupants while managing costs and complying with regulations.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Oversee daily operations of facilities, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs
- Manage repair and renovation projects
- Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations
- All other duties as assigned by manager and JLL leadership team.
- Select and manage service contractors and suppliers
- Negotiate and oversee contracts for cleaning, security, and other facility services
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure service quality
- Optimize space utilization and plan office layouts
- Coordinate moves, additions, and changes to workspace configurations
- Maintain accurate floor plans and space allocation records
- Develop and manage monthly, quarterly, annual facility budgets
- Monitor and control expenses related to operations, maintenance, and projects
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficiency measures
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Develop and implement emergency response plans
- Promote sustainable practices and energy efficiency initiatives
- Maintain inventory of facility assets and equipment
- Manage the lifecycle of building systems and equipment
- Recommend and implement facility upgrades and improvements
- Supervise and train facility staff
- Assign tasks and monitor performance
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and customer service
- Provide excellent on-boarding, training, and team building.
- Participate in the individual performance management program and personal development planning for members of the team
- Prepare regular reports on facility performance, projects, and budget
- Communicate effectively with senior management, employees, and external stakeholders
- Other duties as required
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in facility management, operations experience or related role
- Knowledge of building systems, HVAC, electrical, mechanical and services, required.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, construction, and project management
- Familiarity with relevant building codes, health and safety regulations, and industry standards
- Experience with managing multiple vendors and small capital projects.
- Proficiency in facility management software and Microsoft Office suite
- Professional certifications such as FMP (Facility Management Professional) or CFM (Certified Facility Manager) preferred
- Supervise vendor performance during normal and off hours including weekends when necessary
- Knowledge and experience with Leases a plus
- Be available for 24/7 emergency call support and site presence as required.
- Must be prepared to travel within Canada in order to support region wide delivery.
