Facility Maintenance Tech

POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position is to provide a safe work environment by performing facility maintenance and repairs and providing oversight and coordination of vendor repairs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Maintain and repair service center facility, shop, grounds and dock area
2. Ensure compliance with all company standards and state and local fire and safety code requirements so the facility passes all inspections
3. Act as a liaison and central point of contact for service center personnel for all facility maintenance needs
4. Complete weekly facility, yard, and fence walks to assess for repairs or preventative maintenance and repair as needed: drywall, painting, basic plumbing and electrical, lighting and pothole repairs; basic preventative maintenance, including but not limited to, HVAC, EODs/levelers, dock/shop doors, fences, gates, etc.
5. Drain drip drums and visually monitor the Fire Sprinkler System
6. Repair or replace dock doors and EOD/levelers/bumpers; Repair pallet jacks
7. Proactively apply ice melt to sidewalks and stairs, and perform snow removal and landscaping, if applicable
8. Schedule all work with vendors, provide oversight on repairs, review Facility Services Agreements (FSA) scopes of work and ensure work is completed in a timely manner
9. Work closely with the Facility Maintenance team to coordinate in-house and 3rd-party repairs to the facility and advise the team of any service/performance issues or delays
10. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
11. Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Must possess high school diploma or equivalent
2. Basic knowledge of electrical, carpentry and plumbing skills
3. Ability to follow instructions
4. Must be able to work alone or as a team member
5. Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, vendors, etc.)
6. PC experience and ability to use maintenance software programs

WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Exposure to noise and vibration
2. Exposure to dust and diesel fumes
3. Exposure to hazardous materials shipped and packaged under DOT regulations
4. Exposure to all weather types when working outdoors
5. Hours may vary due to operational need
6. Travel to other centers may be required
