The Operations Department as a whole is responsible for overseeing public works like road and infrastructure maintenance, as well as facilities management, ensuring safety and efficiency. We are looking for a dynamic and collaborative individual to join our team as a Facilities Specialist! In this role you will provide the highest excellence in customer service to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders and ensuring the areas and work projects comply with all applicable legislation and Town of Innisfil policies and procedures. You will be responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of Town Facilities as well as:

  • Coordinating external contracting/consulting resources engaged by the service area for facility maintenance and repair, including their engagement, providing direction and monitoring of their activities, performance and budget.
  • Providing coaching, guidance and expertise related to the technical components of buildings, system integration and efficiency to staff, management, contractors and other necessary parties.
  • Coordinating and assigning staff duties and responsibilities related to building repair and maintenance; regularly visiting work sites to connect and collaborate with staff, providing instruction and guidance to ensure staff are working in a health and safety-minded manner.
  • Investigating and facilitating appropriate action to inquiries, complaints and issues pertaining to Facilities from both internal and external sources (tenants/lease holders) to ensure a satisfactory resolution.
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of facilities policies, programs, and procedures, and assisting the Manager with the development of capital and operational budgets with a clear understanding of the current state of the buildings, associated operations, and service level commitments.

The preferred candidate holds:

  • A college diploma in one of the following areas, or related field: building construction technology, building systems engineering technology, facility management or suitable equivalent.
  • IFMA Facility Management Professional (FMP), BMOI Real Property Administrator (RPA), ORFA certifications and/or credentials are an added asset.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of facilities maintenance experience and one (1) year in a lead capacity responsible for directing, coaching, and providing technical expertise.
  • Proven experience and knowledge in project management along with the ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Completion of Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or working towards is an asset.
  • Availability to attend evening and/or weekend meetings or other events; and to respond to major emergencies as required.
  • Valid Class "G" driver's license in good standing and reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.

Closing date is April 16, 2025.

The salary range for this position is $82,630 - $105,462 per annum (Based on a 35-hour week) and the successful candidate will be compensated within this range.
