Facilities CAD Technician (Summer Student)

Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager- Facilities, the CAD Technician (Summer Student) is responsible for reviewing and updating the electrical and/or mechanical designs of our manufacturing facility.

Work Term: 2025 Summer Student (May - September)

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Review and update plant layout documents/drawings using AutoCAD
• Ensure that all drawings are in accordance with S&C’s design standards
• Ensure backup of all CAD designs
• Perform data entry to set up and maintain parts storage in our facilities software system Limble
• Assist the Project Coordinator and ensure that capital budget projects are following project timelines
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives for S&C’s drawing process
• Other related duties as assigned.

Who are we looking for? Someone who

• Is currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution diploma or degree program (Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing)
• Completed coursework and experience using AutoCAD
• Positive, flexible team‐oriented approach, with the willingness and desire to work as part of a team as well as independently
• Self‐motivated with the ability to take initiative
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented, resourceful
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications
