Our client in the Mississauga area is looking for an experienced Plant Manager with background in metal fabrication and an understanding of welding processes!

The Fabrication Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire metal fabricating manufacturing process, including maintaining efficiency, quality, and safety and leading the team to achieve production goals.
Skill Requirements:
- 8-10 years of work experience in a metal fabrication environment.
- 5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Career history as a welder with Welder certification or licensed Millwright is a definite asset.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate the team to achieve goals.
- Superior organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Clear understanding of OHSA requirements and experience creating safety policies and procedures.
- Experience with quality control standards and ISO9001.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
- Ability to work well under the pressure of tight deadlines.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demands and delivery deadlines.
- Create and maintain production schedules and ensure optimal utilization of resources.
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure products meet or exceed industry standards. Collaborate with quality teams to address any issues/non-compliances.
- Achieve and maintain ISO9001 certification for the facility.
- Recruit new staff, including onboarding activities and administration.
- Effectively lead and motivate a team of production staff; managers, supervisors and line workers.
- Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, communication, and career development.
- Manage and allocate resources effectively, including personnel, equipment and materials.
- Effectively manage performance and communicate expectations to staff.
- Optimize production processes to maximize plant performance, while minimizing waste.
- Promote a strong safety culture, enforcing safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance productivity.
- Budget management, ensuring to work within budgetary constraints, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Analyze production costs and implement Continuous Improvement measures to improve efficiencies.
- Effectively collaborate with other departments across the organization, and communicate production goals, and updates to team members and upper management.
