Position Information

Location: Coquitlam Campus

Salary Range: $60,006 to $68,588 annually. Salary scale and wage increments are in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

The Opportunity

In addition to performing the duties of the Laboratory Facilitator - Veterinary Technology, you champion supporting the process of facilitating practicum, clinical placement, experiential learning and/or other Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities for students in the Department of Veterinary Technology. You embody exceptional leadership qualities by overseeing operational management duties in order to recruit, assess, secure and place students in community sites. You also ensure you take pride in client-centered service with community members, faculty coordinators, faculty, students and other external stakeholder groups.

WHAT IT TAKES

  • A Diploma in Animal Health/Veterinary Technology from a CVMA/AVMA accredited Animal Health/Veterinary Technology Program combined with a passing grade on the Veterinarian Technician's National Examination (VTNE) and ongoing membership in the British Columbia Veterinary Technologists Association.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a veterinary hospital facility.
  • Previous experience working as an experiential learning facilitator, and/or prior experience collaborating with local (BC) veterinary industry partners to facilitate training, would be an asset.
  • Good working knowledge of the English language (written and verbal).
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, proven ability to plan and schedule work flow; ability to work in an ever-changing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently under minimum direct supervision, as well as establish priorities and achieve deadlines.

Additional Information

This temporary, full-time (35 hours per week) position is available starting June 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026. Regular hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm. Shift days and times may change depending on the Department's need. Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required. The position is located at the Coquitlam campus; however, successful candidates must be available for occasional work at the New Westminster campus and off-site locations.
