We currently have some exciting roles for Experienced Commercial Claims Adjusters for our Customer Response - Property team.

You will be responsible for claim settlement of predominately commercial property claims (80% commercial | 20% personal lines) via telephone with a key focus on quality and customer service. The successful candidate will work with premiere property vendors to quantify the claim and apply cost-saving guidelines in the quantification of loss and expense without compromising the delivery of superior customer service.

What you’ll do:

  1. Support our claims customer demand through a phone and text line environment.
  2. Investigate and negotiate various Commercial Property Claims in accordance with Aviva's claim procedures and guidelines.
  3. Responsible for confirming coverage and compiling FNOL information for incoming claims.
  4. Stand as an expert and provide in-depth commercial claims guidance/advice to customers, peers, and other stakeholders.
  5. Responsible for data accuracy and the issuance of payments to vendors, insureds, and experts.
  6. Review and compile facts, policy, and technical reports, analyze estimates, value of claim, and negotiate/settle claim accordingly.
  7. Effectively advise and counsel customers on claim status, provide prompt and exemplary customer service, and keep related parties informed of the claims status.
  8. Responsible to ensure all correspondence is completed in a time-efficient/effective manner including the creation of Critical Path, Proof of Loss, and reservation of rights letters, etc.
  9. Responsible for recognizing questionable claims, subrogation, and risk opportunities.
  10. Also responsible for reviewing case law to determine liability.
  11. Meets Property team performance expectations that are set individually and contributes to team success.
  12. Adheres to and supports policies surrounding attendance.

What you’ll bring:

  1. 5+ Years of property claims experience.
  2. Minimum of 3 Years experience handling first-party commercial claims including but limited to building owner/tenant, business income, stock, cargo, builder's risk, crime, and equipment claims for a wide variety of industries.
  3. CIP or FCIP and other industry designation preferred.
  4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to support customer demand.
  5. High level of comfort dealing directly with key commercial clients and brokers on all claim-related issues and other assistance as required.
  6. High level of prioritization and organization skills.
  7. Think critically and coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure you receive the best outcomes.
  8. You are hardworking and a self-motivated problem-solver.
  9. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  10. Licenses for claims adjusting in any provinces (not a requirement but a big asset).
  11. Assist and support during high volume catastrophes as needed (Evenings and Weekends).
  12. Must be able to work rotating shifts during the hours of 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM Monday to Friday, and have flexibility to work some Saturdays only if needed.
