Experience Coordinator and Boathouse Attendant Role Overview
The Experience Coordinator and Boathouse Attendant role is designed to create unparalleled experiences for our Owners and Guests. Responsibilities
A Great Blue Resorts Experience Coordinator and Boathouse Attendant will split their time between helping lead all onsite and off-site owner and guest special events as well as events for the staff and enhancing the experience of all rental guests, and working at the boathouse responsible for all waterfront activities, equipment, and the safe operation and maintenance of all resort boats whether on a motorized boat or non-motorized boat lake.
The Experience Coordinator and Boathouse Attendant responsibility will include but not limited to the following:
- Develop a thorough knowledge of the entire property, so you can direct rental guests and new owners to amenities.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of and promote off-property recreational, educational, and cultural opportunities available to our owners and guests.
- Generate fun and exciting events calendars for activities and relevant cultural events.
- Be a team player, offering support to other departments as needed.
- Enthusiastically help lead both on-property and off-property excursions.
- Greet and assist boaters upon arrival.
- Operate a cash register, and credit and debit terminals (If Applicable).
- Complete paperwork such as dockage forms, daily cash balance sheets, fuel pump readings.
- Pump fuel to boats (If Applicable).
- Power washing boats.
- Work may involve responsibility for the leasing and renting of boat space, collection of lease/rental fees, enforcing Marina rules, and assisting boat owners in proper boat handling, mooring, or other assigned marine-related functions.
- Accurately check and evaluate equipment daily, including canoes, kayaks, fishing boats, water bikes/walkerz/balls, SUPs, and paddleboats.
- Ensure safety equipment is in proper working condition, including life jackets, paddles, oars, and safety kits.
- Ensure all non-motorized equipment is kept clean and available.
- Ensure beach is raked daily and chairs set up/organized by 8:00 a.m.
- Ensure docks are in good condition and safe.
- Ensure non-motorized water equipment area is clean, organized, and well-presented.
- Weed flower beds, remove seaweed, and clean windows and floors in the marina office.
- Support Housekeeping by emptying garbage containers, cleaning washrooms, and showers.
Key Responsibilities:
Enhancing Rental Guest & Cottage Owner Experiences
- Host all guests to the resort from pre-arrival to departure:
- Upon arrival, happily guide guests to their cottage and show them the ins and outs of staying at the cottage. Ensure they are comfortable with where the amenities are and direct them to the contact information sheet.
- Advise guests of your title and explain you are there to help them enjoy their vacation at our resort. Be the point of contact if there are any questions/concerns during the guests’ stay and direct issues to the correct department.
- Check cottage upon departure for any damages reporting anything to the front desk/GM.
- Coordinate all On and Off Site (if applicable) Activities:
- Maintain all Activities Equipment for use by guests.
- Program and coordinate all activities on and off site.
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, happy, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
- Develop a solid working knowledge of all necessary software programs for guest activity management.
- Maintain a positive, happy, and professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers, employees, and other departments.
- Other responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Walk the beach and pool areas, talking to owners and kids and promoting events.
- Put on impromptu games if there are quite a few at the beach.
Skills/Requirements
- Prior customer service experience considered an asset.
- Prior experience hosting or planning special events considered an asset.
- Boaters license and experience with boating considered an asset.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and some evenings.
- Comfortable working outdoors in differing weather conditions.
- Comfortable working independently.
- Possess a high energy, positive and happy attitude.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
