JOB DESCRIPTION | EXECUTIVE RESTAURANT MANAGER
The Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier is eager to find the newest member of the Lobby Restaurant’s Senior Leadership Team. Reporting to the Hotel General Manager, the Executive Restaurant Manager is a hands-on leader with exceptional interpersonal skills. The Executive Restaurant Manager will create a culture of collaboration and personal development as they oversee daily operations to deliver a high-quality dining experience.
Located at the Pier Hotel at the Pier (North Vancouver) just steps away from Lonsdale Quay and the Seabus Terminal in North Vancouver Historic Shipyard, The Lobby Restaurant and Lounge is well-situated for walk-in and return clientele.
Responsibilities
- Direct workflow, educate, and assist staff to ensure efficient restaurant operation, maintaining high production, productivity, quality, and excellent guest-service standards.
- Serve as an educator and an inspirational, committed, and responsible leader to the restaurant’s front-of-house team.
- Be active on the floor during high traffic times in the restaurant, ensuring a vibrant atmosphere while monitoring service consistency and aiding the team as needed.
- Identify operational performance, productivity, and efficiency gaps and implement measures to correct deficiencies.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be highly organized and detail-oriented, and be a team player.
- Work with Executive Chef and Hotel General Manager to develop menu offerings aligned with the brand’s business strategy and lead execution to maximize revenue for the department.
- Focus on growing revenues and maximizing financial performance of the department.
- Recruit optimal team members, conduct interviews, provide training, and continue coaching to improve colleague performance.
- Actively promote the restaurant on the North Shore through the development of marketing and sales strategies.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates, provide feedback, and address concerns.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Credentials
- Minimum 4 years managerial experience in a similar restaurant or hotel environment.
- Completion of a food service administration, hotel or restaurant management Degree is a strong asset.
- Proven leadership skills and a track record of training, grooming, and developing team members.
- Extensive knowledge of wines and spirits. Bartending experience and/or WSET is considered an asset.
- Familiar with Micros POS, Open Table, and proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Possess a Serving It Right and Food Safe Level 1.
- First Aid Level 1 certified.
