Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry and a keen eye for detail, particularly in cake decorating and food presentation. This role requires creativity, precision, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The Pastry Cook will be responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods and desserts that delight our guests and enhance their dining experience.

Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, cakes, buns, breads, eclairs and other desserts according to established recipes.
  2. Decorate cakes and pastries with artistic flair to meet presentation standards.
  3. Ensure all food handling practices comply with health and safety regulations.
  4. Package baked goods for sale or service while maintaining quality standards.
  5. Collaborate with the kitchen team to create new dessert offerings and seasonal specials.
  6. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned after use.
  7. Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and assist in ordering as needed.
  8. Stay updated on industry trends in pastry arts to continuously improve skills and offerings.

Experience

  1. Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role in the restaurant or food industry is preferred.
  2. Strong knowledge of baking techniques, food preparation methods, and food safety practices.
  3. Experience with cake decorating techniques is highly desirable.
  4. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  5. Excellent time management skills to ensure timely preparation of baked goods for service.
  6. A passion for creating high-quality desserts that exceed guest expectations is essential.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 30 per week

Additional pay:
