The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal Executive Pastor is a leader who works closely with the Lead Pastor and Elders to transform vision-driven strategies into action on the ground. Working alongside staff and ministry they do this by planning, organizing and directing practical initiatives all the while maintaining a spirit led focus and heart for the congregation.
Role Summary:
The role of the Executive Pastor is threefold: serve Jesus, serve the Church, and serve the Lead Pastor. They will support the Lead Pastor in advancing the church’s vision by evaluating ministry effectiveness, making discerning decisions, and developing implementation strategies. They will also provide leadership to ministry team leaders, ensuring smooth and effective operations across Family, Worship, Discipleship, and Evangelism ministries, and offering pastoral care to the congregation. The desired candidate would have experience in operational leadership, change management, community engagement and financial management.
Position: Full-time, On-site/Hybrid
Reports to: Lead Pastor
Compensation: $65,000 – $80,000 based on experience

Responsibilities:
– Support the Lead Pastor in organizational direction by researching potential ministry initiatives, facilitating strategic planning, preparing and communicating plans, and evaluating their effectiveness.
– Manage church operations by developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and effective communication, while providing leadership to the staff team in the Lead Pastor’s absence.
– Oversee HR functions to ensure a healthy staff culture, including annual reviews, updating position descriptions, equipping staff with necessary resources, and managing employment contracts.
– Oversee the implementation of the church vision by guiding volunteers, holding staff accountable, leading Team Leaders, coordinating with the Lead Pastor on annual planning, and reporting progress to the Elders.
– Manage the financial health of Gospel Chapel by assisting with budget planning, monitoring expenses with staff and Team Leaders, and collaborating regularly with the Finance Team to evaluate and prioritize financial strategies.
– Serve as a pastoral presence by leading services, delivering 6-8 sermons annually, and supporting roles like prayer and announcements.
– As required, offer specialized pastoral care, including weddings, funerals, hospital visits, pre-marital counseling, and providing support and encouragement to those in need within the congregation and community.
Requirements:
– A relevant bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Ministry and/or Organizational Management, with a commitment to ongoing education in Leadership and Biblical/Theological studies.
– Preferred experience in leadership and management roles.
