Role
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister Financial and Administrative Shared Services Division, the Executive Director, Client Services Operations provides strategic leadership and operational direction to the management team, while overseeing approximately two hundred employees. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of a wide range of shared services across the Government of Alberta, with a strong focus on client service excellence, innovation, and best practices in financial, payroll, benefits administration and fixed asset accounting. The Executive Director leads two primary operational teams, the Finance Operations team is responsible for financial administration, accounts payable and receivable, electronic payments, P-card administration, employee expense processing, and large vendor payments. The Employee Services team manages payroll, processing benefits administration and pension services. The Executive Director plays a central role by enhancing these services across government and collaborating closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including ministries and their clients to drive service excellence. Managing an annual budget of approximately $15 million, the Executive Director ensures efficient, client focused service delivery and supports government wide change initiatives. Stakeholders include ministries, ministry clients, the Public Service Commission, Senior Financial Officers, 1GX Centre of Excellence, and executive leadership. The Executive Director is responsible for developing and implementing business strategies that align with corporate goals, promote innovation, while ensuring effective internal client relationship management. This executive leadership position has a critical role in shaping the future of client service operations across government, driving innovation and fostering a culture of excellence in service delivery.
Qualifications
Your background includes extensive experience in strategic planning with demonstrated expertise in financial planning and management, payroll systems, benefits and pension administration, and information management systems. You are skilled in leading complex change management initiatives and developing operational plans that align with overarching business objectives. With exceptional executive leadership and project management capabilities, you build consensus among various stakeholder groups, elevate service standards, and drive performance through effective coaching and mentoring for continuous improvement. A trusted advisor to executive leadership, you foster a culture of innovation and customer service excellence. Your sound judgment and collaborative approach enables you to provide strategic recommendations and work closely with ministries across government to develop policies and strategies that enhance the delivery of shared services. Your leadership is instrumental in advancing service excellence in achieving operational efficiencies at a government wide level. A bachelor’s degree is required.
Salary
$5,082.46 - $6,679.30 bi-weekly ($132,652 - $174,329 yearly)
