As an Executive Director on the Alternate Solutions Group you’ll primarily be responsible for leading one of the business segments. We are looking for high-energy individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit, who are focused on the challenge of building the bank of the future. The role operates in a fast-paced trading floor environment as part of a dynamic, driven, client-focused team. Your mandate is to drive profitable growth to support ASG’s vision by setting the product development strategy which aligns to ASG’s overall strategy, executing to meet ASG’s growth targets, and managing the day-to-day business activities. This role includes leading individuals to develop and optimize new processes with internal stakeholders, identify new cost savings and efficiencies, and drive profitable revenue growth through integrated product strategies to reach target markets. The role also requires a strong internal partnership with technology as well as operational and risk stakeholders to ensure solutions are designed to meet specific product needs, meet CIBC’s risk appetite, and are seamlessly implemented.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role.To successfully perform the work, you’ll be on-site full-time.How you’ll succeed- Product Development: You’ll develop and articulate clear product development roadmap that supports in the development of ASG’s business strategies and plans to enable ASG to deliver on its mandate, goals and objectives.
- Drive Results: You’ll be responsible to meet monthly, quarterly and annual operational revenue targets. It will be your responsibility to identify service level adherence metrics, analysis reporting, and track for adherence with teams. You’ll be completing integrated business planning with internal partners. Utilizing market research (data, trends, insights), user feedback and business goals, you’ll develop and refine the strategic vision that clearly articulates the benefits from a client, business, and economic perspective. You will ensure all regulatory, business and financial reporting completed on time and with accuracy.
- Innovation: You’ll drive initiatives (end-to-end) from ideation, market research, communication, stakeholder engagement, requirements (user stories, flows, process documents), development, launch and post launch success with stakeholders and strategic partners. You’ll identify opportunities to drive growth through existing and new strategic partnerships and identify new areas of enhancements for operations efficiencies and growth of the ASG business priorities. You’ll develop strategic roadmaps to execute on those opportunities.
- Strategic Focus: You’ll develop efficiencies within processes across operational teams. You’ll identify technical tools to develop efficiencies and ensure market parity, with a focus on production optimization and continuous improvement.
- Relationship Management: You’ll establish effective strategies for deepening relationships with internal partners while increasing revenue and reducing operational costs. Using your strong relationship building skills, you’ll engage and manage stakeholder relationships to successfully execute on key project deliverables to bring internal partners, capabilities and initiatives to market. You’ll work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop detailed business cases outlining project objectives, milestones, resource requirements and associated cost-benefit analysis. You’ll maintain a culture that is collegial, inclusive and team-oriented, with commitment to professional excellence and client success.
Who you are- You have an undergraduate and/or Masters University degree in Industry & Management, Engineering, Computer Science, STEM, and/or Business.
- You have 15+ years in a technology, FinTech, payments, or Capital Markets role.
- You have demonstrated strong overall knowledge of Capital Markets with sufficient knowledge of the financial services industry / regulatory environment to interpret and analyze complex issues, as well as identify and develop innovative opportunities. You have knowledge of technology and processes currently used within banks, large financial institutions, and startups as they relate to payments and foreign exchange. You bring strong awareness of FinTech industry and disruptive technologies revolutionizing traditional banking products and services.
