About CLSA:
The Central Lions Seniors' Association (CLSA) is a non-profit organization committed to enhancing the quality of life for seniors in Edmonton by offering a variety of programs, services, and activities. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive community where seniors can stay active, engaged, and connected. We believe that all seniors' need and deserve access to participate in exercise, art, music, and educational classes that enrich body, mind, and spirit to enhance longevity and quality of life. We work every day to provide those programs.

The Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Director to lead our organization into its next chapter of growth and success. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of CLSA, driving the strategic planning process, ensuring financial sustainability, and fostering positive relationships with key stakeholders, including our members and the City of Edmonton.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the Board’s strategic planning and ensure operational alignment with the organization's goals.

  • Oversee the development and delivery of programs to meet the needs of seniors in Edmonton.

  • Develop and execute fundraising strategies, including grants, donations, and sponsorships.

  • Cultivate a positive organizational culture, providing mentorship to staff and volunteers.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and manage organizational risk.

  • Represent CLSA to external stakeholders and build strong community partnerships.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated passion for community service with a high degree of compassion and empathy

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role within the non-profit sector or equivalent

  • Post Secondary education that is aligned to the needs of this position and CLSA

  • Strong understanding of the senior services sector in Edmonton.

  • Proven experience in fundraising, financial management, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • In-depth familiarity with AGLC, CRA, and Alberta Employment Standards and how they impact non-profit organizations.
