Location:
Regency Retirement Resorts have 8 locations in the Okanagan, including Vernon, Penticton, West Kelowna, and Kelowna. This position is on site at the new location in Glenmore within Kelowna.
Job Description:
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Executive Chef will exhibit their culinary talents in creating menus and delivering high quality dishes that meet the philosophy and standards of Regency Retirement Resort. Being mindful of residents that have food allergies or intolerances, you will lead the Food Services Department to operate in an effective, efficient, and safe manner while creating a memorable dining experience for our residents.
This role involves setting a high standard for conduct, grooming, and appearance for all staff, while ensuring food service delivery aligns with the Regency lifestyle's quality standards.
Responsibilities include developing unique, budget-conscious seasonal menus that respect the residents' diverse social, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, and collaborating with the General Manager in hiring, coaching, and evaluating Food Service employees.
The position requires participation in management meetings, overseeing food services for special events, and supervising all aspects of food preparation, service, procurement, and sanitation.
Additional tasks include purchasing supplies within budget, maintaining regulatory standards for storage, safety, and infection control, developing departmental goals and policies, managing the budget, and implementing documentation systems.
Fostering a positive team environment, assisting with new employee orientation, respecting resident confidentiality, and performing other related duties as needed are also key components of the role.
