Job Description

If you answered affirmatively to these questions, the role of Event Presentation Specialist at MLSE may be the ideal opportunity for you.

The Event Presentation Specialist supervises a part-time activation team and plays a crucial role in developing and completing the presentation elements of our events. This involves creatively crafting engaging programming elements, coordinating with internal and external collaborators, and ensuring that all event elements are completed flawlessly. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in event presentation, strong leadership skills, and exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  1. Leadership & Team Management: Lead and manage a part-time activation team, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure effective execution of all brand activations. Champion a collaborative and hard-working team environment.
  2. Event Programming and Presentation: Generate ideas, develop, and implement event presentation elements, including programming features, scripting, and runs of show for a diverse portfolio of events and experiences. Take charge of show calling and/or stage-managing MLSE's most high-profile events when necessary. Ensure all aspects of the presentation are in line with brand guidelines and strategic objectives.
  3. Content Creation: Collaborate with internal teams to build and curate content for event presentations. This includes developing creative elements, graphics, multimedia elements, and other visual materials that improve the overall event experience.
  4. Coordination & Execution: Oversee the setup, rehearsal, and execution of presentation elements during events. Ensure that all technical and logistical aspects are handled efficiently and that presentations run smoothly.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with the event operations team and other collaborators to comprehend event goals and ensure that presentation elements fulfill their requirements and expectations.
  6. Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and partners to source presentation equipment and services. Maintain relationships and ensure that vendor deliverables are met on time and within budget.
  7. Quality Assurance: Conduct detailed reviews of presentation materials and setups to ensure high-quality standards. Address any issues or concerns promptly and make adjustments to improve the presentation experience.
  8. Post-Event Evaluation: Assess the efficiency of event presentation elements after each event. Gather feedback from collaborators and participants, analyze performance metrics, and make recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications

  1. Post-Secondary education or a certificate/diploma in event management or marketing.
  2. Proven experience in event management with a focus on live event presentation, show calling and operational planning & execution.
  3. Demonstrated experience leading part-time or freelance teams to successful outcomes.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
  5. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills that have been used extensively to collaborate with diverse teams and colleagues across all levels.
  7. Familiarity with event technology and audiovisual equipment is an asset.
  8. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for event execution.
