Event Coordinator
Volunteer Position Overview:
CJFF is seeking an organized, people-focused Event Coordinator to support the planning and delivery of our annual festival, hosted at The Confluence. This role is instrumental in coordinating event logistics and ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for attendees, speakers, and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Coordination:
- Collaborate with The Confluence team to support festival logistics and venue needs.
- Assist with planning and execution of screening room setup, signage, and audience flow.
- Support the CJFF programming team with film introductions and speaker discussions.
Volunteer Management:
- Support our Volunteer Director with scheduling and training festival volunteers.
- Assist with coordinating volunteer roles during the festival, including check-in, ushers, and general support.
- Serve as one of the main points of contact for volunteers during the festival.
Programming Support:
- Liaise with guest speakers and panellists to ensure smooth participation in post-film discussions.
- Help facilitate transitions between screenings and conversations.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable managing logistics in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in event planning or volunteer coordination (preferred)
Start in July 2025: Attend monthly CJFF Board Meetings and contribute to pre-festival planning, requiring a commitment of approximately 1–2 hours per week.
End in November 2025: Available for in-person work during the festival (November 7, 8 & 9, 2025)

Social Media Coordinator
Volunteer Position Overview:
CJFF is looking for a creative and organized Social Media Coordinator to support our online presence leading up to and during the festival. Working closely with the Social Media Director, this role helps shape our digital voice and engage our community across platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Social Media Director in developing content aligned with CJFF’s mission and voice
- Draft, schedule, and post content across Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
- Maintain a consistent posting schedule and actively engage with our audience
- Monitor comments, messages, and tags to foster community interaction
- Support the promotion of festival events, screenings, and the Peace Market
- Track social media performance and provide insights as needed
We are looking for someone who has:
- Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn (bonus: Canva, Adobe, Mailchimp and/or Squarespace)
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Organized, responsive, and able to meet deadlines
- Available to attend key festival events (November 7, 8 & 9, 2025)
Time Commitment: Year round 1 - 2 hours a week
