The Green Party of Canada is seeking a Temporary Social Media Coordinator and Graphic Designer with a passion for environmental protection and social justice to join our team for the election season.

As a Social Media Coordinator and Graphic Designer, you will play a key role in promoting our political party and initiatives across various online platforms. Reporting to the Director of Communications and working with the Communications Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing and moderating the Party’s social media accounts, creating compelling graphics for social media, and conducting social media analytics to track progress.

For this role, we are looking for a strategic, creative, and curious individual with solid experience with social platforms, graphic design, and digital content production. If you are comfortable working quickly and efficiently in a constantly changing environment, creating innovative and bold content, and managing multiple fast-paced social media accounts during an election period, this is the role for you.

Your Mission :

  • Participate in the creation of the overall social media strategy for our election season.
  • Identify target audiences and understand their expectations and behaviors on social media.
  • Collaborate with our team (strategist, communications coordinator, and graphic designer) to create and publish attractive and captivating content on social media (Facebook, X / Twitter, Instagram, etc.).
  • Moderate and monitor social media activity on the GPC social media accounts in a proactive and caring manner.
  • Analyze social media data and compile analytics reports to measure the effectiveness of our campaigns and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Create compelling and engaging graphic designs for social media posts aligned with brand standards and style guidelines.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, or any other relevant field
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar position
  • In-depth knowledge of different social media platforms and their best practices
  • In-depth knowledge of graphic design and designing for social media
  • Knowledge and interest in current political events
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English (French an asset)
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
  • Strategic creativity, and an ability to constantly generate new ideas
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Commitment to the values and objectives of the Green Party of Canada
