Job description

West Fraser offers a range of exciting career opportunities for individuals seeking challenging and rewarding careers. Cariboo Pulp is currently recruiting for an Equipment Operator.

The Material Handling Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

You'll Do:

  • Operate all loaders, forklifts, and chip Cat
  • Keep chip and hog piles in working order and fill reclaims / decks
  • Responsible for servicing equipment
  • Plow snow as required
  • Operate Trackmobile
  • Clean up of yard materials

You have:

  • A grade 12 diploma
  • Experience with heavy industry and operating equipment
  • Commitment to working safely and creating a safe workplace
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team

Compensation Package:

  • The hourly pay rate for this position will follow the collective agreement between Unifor 1115 and Cariboo Pulp & Paper Company, which is currently $38.76/hour.
  • Outstanding benefits package including medical, dental, pension, life insurance, disability, accident insurance, vacation, and holidays.

Located in Quesnel, BC, Cariboo Pulp and Paper is a forerunning producer of NBSK pulp as well as clean, green energy. Quesnel has a population of approximately 25,000 and features all major conveniences, including its own airport. Quesnel offers affordable housing, modern recreational and educational facilities, regular community events, as well as unlimited recreational activities for the outdoor enthusiast.
