The Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Specialist to join the Compliance Department at Solace Power, a leader in the wireless technology industry. The Environmental Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring that our company’s operations and products comply with local, national, and international environmental regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of environmental laws, standards, and practices, as well as the ability to assess and mitigate potential environmental risks in relation to our business activities.

Your Day-to-Day at Solace Power:

  • Environmental Compliance Management: Monitor and ensure adherence to environmental laws, regulations, and industry standards applicable to wireless technology, telecommunications, automotive and other markets. Assist in the preparation and submission of environmental reports, permits, and filings as required by regulatory bodies and customers. Advise senior leadership on environmental compliance matters, providing guidance on potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on environmental compliance requirements, policies, and sustainable practices. Keep teams updated on changing environmental laws and regulations, ensuring that they are well-informed of their roles in maintaining compliance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering and Operations, to ensure environmental requirements are integrated into product development and operational processes.
  • Collaborate with external partners, regulatory agencies, and industry organizations to stay informed on new regulations and environmental trends.
  • Testing & Validation: Develop test plans and conduct necessary testing to verify that products meet environmental standards.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain thorough records of environmental compliance activities, audits, and corrective actions. Provide regular reports to senior management on the status of environmental compliance and ongoing projects. Ensure accurate and timely reporting for regulatory purposes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.
  • Certifications in environmental compliance (e.g., ISO 14001, LEED) are a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in environmental compliance, sustainability, or environmental health and safety, preferably within the tech or telecommunications industry.
  • Strong knowledge of local, national, and international environmental regulations and standards.
  • Experience with environmental audits, risk assessments, and compliance reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex environmental issues.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, regulatory agencies, and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A passion for sustainability and environmental protection, coupled with a proactive approach to compliance.
