Your Contribution

As an Environmental Scientist, you will work in collaboration with the Environment team.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rules;
• Assist Project Managers, Engineers, and Geoscientists in fulfilling multi-disciplinary environmental and hydrogeological projects, including but not limited to Phase I/One and II/Two Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Excess Soil Management, Site Remediation, and Hydrogeological Study;
• Collect field samples and/or prepare laboratory samples as directed;
• Prepare detailed field notes and provide them to the supervisor;
• Record test data and prepare factual reports, summaries, data sheets, or graphs for interpretation of test results by the supervisor;
• Maintain records of database, calibration certificates, equipment manuals, and applicable standards;
• Consistently execute prescribed technical procedures, safe work practices, and work plans while completing field, laboratory, and office work;
• Ensure environmental management, planning, and regulatory compliance;
• Participate in project management, site, and staff planning meetings;
• Maintain positive working relationships with all internal and external contacts;
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Your Profile

• University or College Degree in Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences, or an environmental-related field;
• 2 to 3 years of experience as an environmental consultant in environmental drilling and test pitting, collection of soil and groundwater samples required;
• Reporting experience in Phase I/One and II/Two ESAs, Excess Soil Management would be an asset;
• Valid Province of Ontario class “G” driver’s licence;
• Access to a reliable vehicle;
• Willingness to travel between worksites locally and within the region for extended periods and occasionally across Canada;
• Understanding of and/or ability to learn technical laboratory and field-testing procedures required;
• Working knowledge of both provincial and federal environmental regulations would be an asset;
• Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to complex topics and concepts, working independently and as part of a team;
• Ability to effectively and efficiently problem-solve, tackle new assignments, and multi-task in a busy work environment;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to perform detailed analysis in various software programs;
• Possession of or eligibility to obtain Security Clearance;
• Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety;
• Attention to detail is a must for this position.
